REASONS TO RECOMMEND
This fund may be appropriate for investors seeking capital growth and who can tolerate a higher degree of risk. The portfolio is highly diversified across multiple asset classes around the world but has a bias towards the UK.
IN-HOUSE MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE
By investing primarily in our own range of actively managed funds, we are able to tap the vast expertise of our in-house fund management teams and their long-term track records in fixed income, equity and property. Investing with them leaves the stock-picking decision makers with the real power to select the best assets to deliver income or growth.
MATCHING CLIENT RISK PROFILES
Each Portfolio Fund is aligned to a Dynamic Planner risk profile, which means that our funds can be matched to your clients’ appetite for risk. We also review and if necessary rebalance each fund daily, to ensure it adheres to its aims and risk-target allocations. This means each fund offers ongoing suitability for your clients from the time of making their initial investment and at each subsequent review.
PROVEN TRACK RECORD
Not only are our in-house fund managers highly experienced in their own right, but we also have more than seven years of proven capability in risk-targeted fund management having launched similar Life & Pension funds in March 2008.
Past performance is not a guide to future performance. The value of investments may fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the amount invested. Income from investments may fluctuate. Currency fluctuations can also affect performance. Performance figures are on a bid to bid with net income reinvested basis. Valuations are based on the previous day's prices.
HOW THE FUND IS MANAGED
Dynamic Planner’s financial analytics team creates asset allocations for specific risk profiles by analysing the long-term expected behaviour of up to 14 asset classes with a focus on investment returns, volatility and correlations. The LF Canlife Portfolio Funds are strictly aligned to Dynamic Planner’s asset allocation models – we do not apply any tactical tilt on top. We believe that this results in a better outcome for investors; simply put, if a fund is labelled a Dynamic Planner risk profile 6, it should stay at risk profile 6. Because our Portfolio Funds predominantly invest in our own in-house funds that are actively managed, there is plenty of scope to take active risk in the funds’ underlying holdings. Canada Life Investments has experienced managers with long-term track records in fixed income, equity and property, and are able to tailor their individual portfolios to suit the prevailing market conditions.
Our commitment to the Dynamic Planner asset allocation model allows the fund to use the Dynamic Planner Risk Target Managed badge.
Our Portfolio Funds are reviewed on a daily basis and rebalanced as necessary, using fund flows where possible to minimise any potential trading costs. This ensures they remain within the parameters specified by Dynamic Planner.
Asset allocation, volatility and fund size details for our Portfolio Funds are submitted to Dynamic Planner on a quarterly basis. Dynamic Planner reviews the funds to ensure they continue to meet their stated risk profile. Dynamic Planner shares these asset allocation details in order to support advisers’ due diligence and review requirements.
